Description

Tired of not being able to pick open those old, 4-track BMW locks?

Now the folks at Laser Key Products have created a pick that ACTUALLY WORKS for these tough, tough locks! Where the Lishi picks use a lifting method, some locks just pick easier by pushing all of the wafers up to their highest points and then letting them fall to the correct positions. As shown in the video below, you can pick the HU58 locks in just seconds. There is no better tool for these!

Also includes tips & blades for HU92 (newer BMW 2-track), HU66 (VW), HU64 (Mercedes 2-track, 10-cut style), and Saab 2-track.

Pick locks into their locked positions, then flip it over to unlocked using the built in plug spinner feature.

Instructions for BMW:

  1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY, INCLUDING THE TIPS BELOW!
  2. INSTALL THE CORRECT GUIDE SLEEVE INTO THE CHASSIS UNIT
  3. PRE-LOAD THE PLUG-SPINNER:
    • Some locks like the BMW must be picked to the locked position (clockwise) first, and then you can use the built-in plug-spinner to spin the plug to the unlocked position (counter-clockwise). BMW models made for the US market need to be picked in the clockwise (locked) direction.
    • Pull the plug-spinner release (the collar) down a little and turn the red knob clockwise until the collar catches in the second notch to set the spinner for the counter-clockwise spin. Make sure the collar is pushed upwards completely so it does not slip out during use.
  4. INSERT THE TOOL INTO THE DRIVER'S DOOR
    • Insert the Chassis Unit into the keyway on the driver's side door lock
    • Insert the Guide Key completely into the keyway on driver's side door lock
  5. PICK THE LOCK
    • Turn and maintain light clockwise (the direction to lock) turning pressure, hold tension and then remove the Guide Key completely
    • Very slowly remove pressure until you hear a click or two as the tumblers drop, then reapply light pressure (torque) to the clockwise direction
    • Repeat the loosen/tighten step again and again slowly and slightly. As more wafers become picked, you will notice the tool turning a little more than the last time as you retighten. At some point the lock will become picked and when you attempt to retighten, the tool will turn a full 90 degrees to the locked position.
  6. SPIN THE LOCK
    • Now that the lock is picked to the locked position (clockwise), it must be spun to the unlocked position (counter-clockwise). Hold the tool as straight as possible from only the silver portion of the Chassis Unit and silver handle and pull the collar down to release the plug-spinner and spin the cylinder to the unlocked position.

TIPS:

  • Watch the video below. Then read the instructions. Then watch the video again. Then read the instructions again.
  • DO NOT LUBRICATE THE LOCK! The grease that is there from the factory helps slow the movement of the tumblers and helps the lock pick easier. On older models, like BMW, it may be necessary to inject lithium grease into the lock to aid in the picking process.
  • Do not over-torque the tool or the keyway. Many locks have a clutch mechanism that will make the tool turn before actually being picked.
  • It may be necessary to lubricate the center of the Chassis Unit from time to time to help it spin faster.
  • Volkswagen requires very, very light pressure (torque). You will be turning the tool into the unlocked position (counter-clockwise). The use of the plug-spinner will not be necessary.
